Hi, i really have to fix this laptop by tommorow or im in trouble. And i need to back up 3bg of pictures. And nero wont let me burn a data disc. The laptop is fujitsu siemens mobile AMD Sempron processor 2800+ and 480 mb of ram.Is it possible to burn 3gb of picture onto a dvd with it?Im trying for 6 hours already and no way i can get to work.Im really despreate.Have to get this done in 10 hours and havent slept almost all night.Always when i push burn it seems like it started burning and then it says burning aborted and stops. ill add a log too maybe this will help somehow. Power calibration error usually indicates a problem with the media. Either try using Imgburn to burn the data or get some Verbatim brand disks and try those. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm
Just passing thru, in addition to attar's comments i have the following.. I can see you're trying to burn 3.4GB of data and this paragraph is saying that there's room for 4.4GB of data, that's fine. However this paragraph states that the burner doesn't recognise the blank discs you're trying to use. This drive is a few years old now (which in itself is fine) and is now discontinued, which means there's no longer any 'firmware' being released; so basically this means the firmware on the drive, version 2.40 according to your logfile isn't equipped to recognise those particular discs. So as per attar's advice you should try some Verbatim. I can't tell if there's any newer firmare than 2.40 btw. Here's a couple examples of what the logfile would show if it can recognise (and thus use) discs correctly - those are 16x -R discs, can tell this from the 'MCC 03 - RG20' code those are also 16x -R discs, can tell this from the 'TTH02' code As far as i'm aware this burner can (officially) write to 8x discs but can write to some 16x discs as long as the firmware has entries for them. So some 16x Verbatim discs should be fine.
