Have fta satellite receiver that will pvr programs onto usb stick or drive. Saves .TS and .IDX file for each program. Can edit (cut commercials) with Video Redo and resave as .TS. But when I try to play the edited file it won't play without a .IDX file. Have found that I can use the original .IDX sort of. Information is wrong of course but the file plays. My problem is that the FF/REW functions don't work. Causes the receiver to lock up. I'm guessing that the receiver uses the .IDX file somehow when FF/REW/etc. So I am looking for a program (free is best) for my pc that will take a .TS file that I have and output a .IDX file for it. Hi, I also am trying to do the same extact thing. I want to edit .trp files that are created on my viewsat pro. I can edit the .trp file in videoredo but i need to be able to create a .idx file that the receivers is looking for before i can play back my edited file. I tried Avidemux and it does created an .idx file but the receiver still won't play the edited file in fact it won't even see the file. Avidemux creates a .idx file but this is a text file and when the receiver creates the .idx file it's a data file. Can someone help to achieve this goal of being able to edit .trp files and create the required .idx so i can play it on my viewsat pro receiver. Much Thanks... Peace Soul
