ok i have a broken 60gb ps3 and i rang sony plus my warranty expired they said i have to bring it to gamestop (where i bought it from) i give them 250euros they'll handle it. sony will send them a 60gb ps3 and i collect it... i dont know if this will work for u but u should give it a try

a) look it up on their website b) tell them your PS3 is broken, give them specific details as to what happened. It's not hard!
my ps3 60 gig hdd died.signed up for continuous play on their web site .out of warranty .got one delivered 2 days later .sent the replacement back .put a 320 gig wd instead of the 60 before the other was delivered.all is good .have kept the original 60 gig drive just in case ,even though it is knackered beyond any pc recognising it .think it is 5 uk pounds a month
they would of replaced without question. and you get the model you send in 60 for a 60 etc .glad i didnt have to go that far ,but i was asked to sign for a new one on my door step .said i have fixed it .wd 320 hdd less than 80 uk quid inc delivery .took a minute to format to ps3 .well happy
to sammorris yeah i check there site they said but down my model number but i lost the box and wen i put my serial number and zip code it says invalid
