Ok i have a video that about 5 minutes in freezes. But the audio continues. So after about 15 seconds the video unfreezes and is behind the audio for the rest of the duration. So i need to just edit the video without touching the audio. Possible? Or I could rip the audio off, edit the video, and then put the audio back on but thats a lot of work...I'm gunna need a few programs. Can anyone reccommend any good ones?

    Hi TyRock,
Please give us a little more info to work on. Is your video a VHS or DVD? Is it a backup of a movie? It may be possible to work around your problem but we need more info. Please give as much info as you can and we'll do our best to fix you up.
    Good Luck,
    HW.

Hallywood is right. What video and format? Commercial or something someone made up? What is the size of it? What software was used to make the copy you have? Are the files still on the PC or is it something you burned and no longer have the original? Little things like that help us to figure out what's going on. Mismatched audio and video can cause a problem for the pros. If it's a backup of a commercial video, then I would suggest making a new copy.

Complex editing is not a Newbie section task. If that is what you need, try the question in the advanced section. Let a mod know what you're doing so you won't get in trouble for double posting.

It's a video I downloaded and it's a video that opens in Real Player. Dunno wut kind of video that would be. It can't be that hard!

First of all you have to know what format it's in and post that. A lot of the downloads are DivX and something like DivX to DVD will work. Nero also has some programs that convert downloaded files to DVD. It just depends on what you have. As for editing sound tracks to video and having it in synch, just ask around if you think that is easy. Normally the audio files in a video are synchronized as part of the original structure.

Hmmm... My car won't run, can you tell me how to fix it? Same for the TV, it doesn't work, how do I fix it? Here's a simple one, I have a DVD that I can't back up, what's wrong? To solve problems a person needs some information to work with. All you've done is say you downloaded a video. The downloaded file's audio isn't in synch, but you neglect to mention the format the file is in. We had to ask even to find it was a downloaded file. You offered it played on Realplayer. Do you realize how many different types of files Realplayer will play? That was no help. If you want some apps that will work well with video files, you can try Dr DivX for DivX formats. Nero's Nerovision is good for doing file conversions. Then you have DVDReMake and DVDLabPro for editing purposes.

Hate to see you loose your cool, but you've been of no help to yourself at all here or to forum members who are willing to help you. You want help and you say you are a quick study, here's a hint for you, figure out the format and use the program appropriate for said format. [bold]You get help if you try to be a part of the solution process. Just tossing out a problem without any information is useless unless you can find a mind reader. They're in short supply.[/bold] Good luck with the task and I hope you find your solution.
