Hi, a few questions but first some need to knows I have a softmod'd xbox I'm not that new to xbox softmodding I have evox (latest version) as main dash I used Splinter Cell (not clasic version) exploit to do the Softmod I have got every tool needed to update/install apps/dashboards ect. I also got AID 3.whateverthenumberis (latest version) I also got ALL the others (slayers ect) I have also patched m$ dash to work with softmod My hard drive is the stock one that came with my xbox (till tomorrow) now my question/s 1: how can I (if possible) use the F drive? 1a: if it is possible please give a step by step (or a link to a step by step) My reason for asking is that no one seems to have said if the F drive is usable and how to make it usable if it is. Thats it, i dont have many problems using softmod, I fix error 21 by re-installing the oringinal m$ dash by using the softmod loaded from splinter cell save and then re-installing the softmod, this works all the time for some reason (may just be my expeirences) Thanks
It's simple to use the F:\ First check that in the evox settings it says "use F: yes" Then with one of your installer disks look at the formatting tools and find the format single drive option and format F:\. Depending on your drive there will either be approx 2 gig or nothing..the 8.6 gig drives fitted to some just don't have enough space for an F:\ drive at all.
That'll give you a 2 gig F:\ drive..big enough for all the emulators and roms, all the apps XBMC etc. Don't touch C:\ or E:\dashboard, and please make a full recover/restore disk at the earliest opportunity.
lol I make one after every update of XBMC full c and e drives backed up in xiso format with c-box tools via FTP (as I said, not a complete n00b ^_^) thanks for your help ^_^
If you have a G:\ patched dash and a G:\ patched installer. But you can't run apps or games off G:\ as far as I am aware. A modern bios and installer will just make a big F:\ anyway. G:\ only comes in when you have a drive of over 350GB which has a good chance of corrupting all your data anyway.
ahh, then the 40 gig drive I'm getting is ok (I've checked compatability on xbox-scene) also is my eeprom size ment to be 3k?
You aren't going to need to have a G:\ drive. In fact it's pointless even enabling it on a drive that small. That sounds about right for an eeprom file.. but why do you need to know the size. I hope you aren't thinking of attempting to rewrite the eeprom itself. That's risky.
the eeprom is only really 256 bytes but depending on what dashboard program you look at it,you will get mixed results....
I think he means the whole folder with eeprom.dat and bin and txt in it..That usually reports about 3k with XP. i don't know what this fascination is with the eeprom, it's like a few weeks ago people insisting that games must go on C:\?? because that's how a pc does it. Anyway.. The problem here has been solved.
On my xbox C drive, if you want it then you have to own the original and search through "the usual places" (xbins) for the xbe
http://www.xbox-hacks.net/download/xbox/games/ <-- here from xbe conversions from pc to xbox (your will need the full program of the wanted game on your pc already to do it) http://www.xbox-hacks.net/download/xbox/ <-- full listing of tools n such http://www.xbox-hacks.net/download/ <-- has some interesting stuff too ^_^
