    @eureka21

    as i pointed out on the first page in the "preordering" section there are only a handfull of places taking preorders. Gamecrazy and F.Y.E. in the US are for sure taking preorders and in Canada Toys R'US is taking preorders. there was a thread on here about Sam's Club or BJs, as they too were said to be taking names. those are the only places i know for sure. i still think your best bet is going to be GameStop or EB. both are not taking preorders yet, but if you are concerned call your local store and get some firsthand advice. i believe those stores are said to start taking preorders come september or even october.

    also if you arn't able to secure a preorder from a reliable store, think about how your local walmart went about selling their 360s. what time did they allow people to lineup to get a 360??? what time did people start showing up??? how many systems (premiums/cores) did they get??? figure what time you showed up and how far behind or ahead of everyone you were, and what package was available to you by then???
    OR
    you could simply apply and get a job at gamestop/eb or something and try to get first dibs that way

    what remote are you talking about? i do not know of any remote for the ps3, but the Wii has a remote and a gamepad.

    i just preordered mine from F.Y.E. and i will admit that i am a little hesitant of how things went about. the girl had no clue what she was doing and when the manager came, he could not or i should say would not tell me how many people preordered ahead of me. all they said was "keep my receipt and we'll call you." i will probably get another reservation with gamestop. i'd say gamestop and EB are your better bets for preordering. part of the reasoning behind these companies holding off, is so they can get a better assessment of how many units they will actually be receiving per store....so when you reserve one, they should be able to atleast give you a fairly reasonable idea of what number in the preorder chain you are, along with how many of each package they will receive. so basically you should know when you leave the store if your on the first/second/third shipments....

    this isnt pure confirmation, but it makes sense that both models will come with wireless controllers. when you scroll down to "communication" it says bluetooth 2.0(EDR) and then Controller Wireless (bluetooth).

    i think they will both have wireless controllers, but its not offical. this may be what you were hearing about a "remote" for the ps3, here is a link supporting the psp as a remote for the ps3.

    Blu-ray is the next-generation digital video disc. It can record, store and play back high-definition video and digital audio, as well as computer data. The advantage to Blu-ray is the sheer amount of information it can hold:

    A single-layer Blu-ray disc, which is roughly the same size as a DVD, can hold up to 27 GB of data -- that's more than two hours of high-definition video or about 13 hours of standard video.

    A double-layer Blu-ray disc can store up to 50 GB, enough to hold about 4.5 hours of high-definition video or more than 20 hours of standard video. And there are even plans in the works to develop a disc with twice that amount of storage.
