    Hi,
    I'm new to this forum.
But interested to know if anyone knows of any shareware used to burn DVDs that has a password protection ability in the software. I'm a photographer who has a website which has had 6mths in the building so far and they seem to be VERY slow at getting the backend right for client viewing and ordering. So beacuse clients can't use this facility yet, I don't want them to have to come back to the studio so they're family and friends can see the images on my computer. Hence I thought giving them the shots as low res jpegs on DVD would be the next best thing but I don't want them to be able to copy off the DVD obviously, as I would probably loose some sales on the prints if they can just copy the images off or copy the DVD altogether. I did a search and can't find a way of making the DVD non copiable as even your forum has said is VERY expensive. But I thought if I can make the DVD password lockable does that at least stop them from accessing if they aren't aware of the password? Maybe does a password locked DVD copy and you need to know the password to copy it or a new passsword to access the copy?

You could use WinRar or PKZip or about any other compression program to password protect the individual files. Then include uncompressed thumbnails for preview. You'd probably have to keep a database that lists the image number with its password.
