    Hi,
I need an online place to purchase blank DVD's. I have a few questions though.

First of all, what is HUB printable. I want plain Ridata 8x DVD-R printable discs (that I can print on with my Epson Styles R300 Inkjet Printer). What is the different between HUB printable and white matte or whatever they are called? An explanation would be much appreciated as I am confused on this matter.

Also, I am looking to purchase a 5 pack of DVD+(-)R DL media, and I need some advice as to what brand is best. Verbatim or Ridata? I know Ridata's new 4x DVD+R DL have some flaws, but are Ridata's 2.4x ones just fine, or do they also have troubles?

The last question is, where is the cheapest place I can purchase these online with the best shipping price? I need it shipped to Brampton, Canada. Which website can I look to find the best price, and the products in 50, 50, and 5 (DL) pack? I am looking to purchase 50 Silver Matte, 50 printable (although I don't understand what HUB printable or NON-HUB is and what difference it makes). Thanks for all your help, much appreciated guys :)!

The printable area extends all the way to the center hole on the DVD.

My burner chokes on RiData DL media. Verbatim DL media seems to be supported by more burners and minimal complaints from other users. When it comes down to DL media, I only use Verbatim.

Sorry I can't help with pointing you to a cheap store that will ship to Canada. I buy a lot of product from the following Websites though:

    http://www.supermediastore.com/
    http://www.newegg.com

    Have a good day

Go to www.BlankMedia.ca.....they're in Kitchener I believe. They'll have all your problems covered. Just search around their site for "ask digital dolphin" where you'll find lots of info. They carry pretty well all brands of media...Verbs and TY's being your best bet. Terrific to do business with....prices are good for Canada and they ship FAST.

1)Hub printable: You can print on all but the inner 3 mms of the disc. They'll have a white matte finish. Maxell also makes some quality full hubs, but look for Made in Japan on the shrink wrapper.Full hubs definitely the way to go.

Reg printable: You can print up to 20 mms or so from the hole.Look at an avg dvd and where the silver ring is-that's how far they print to.

Be careful, you want inkjet printable media. There's also shiny inkjet printable and shiny thermal printable.Visiting any websites, make sure they say Inkjet Printable. The shiny inkjet printables are awesome, but they are limited to being regular hubs.

    2) Verbatim DL media is the best. Avoid the rest!!!! They only make plus DL media.

    3) Blankmedia.ca is a very good canadian site:

    http://blankmedia.ca/prodsubcats.asp?id=59

They've also got the verbatim glossy/white full hubs. Mighty expensive, but they should look a lot better than the reg matte full hubs. They also have shiny inkjet/and shiny thermals in there as well. Avoid the thermals!!!!!

    Here's some of my discs:

Van Helsing: This is a white/full hub inkjet printable verbatim-matte finish.

Top right- Greatest game ever played: Regular-sharpie labeled/plain old verbatim-reg hub.

Bottom left: Walk the line: Regular hub shiny inkjet printable

    Bottom right: Regular hub lightscribe

You'll see the limited space available on the reg hubs and full hub.

Keep an eye on Future Shop. Last week they had 100 Verbatim dvd -/+R for $29.99. You see quite often that they have pretty good sales on for blank media. They currently have Verbatim 20-Pack 2.4X 8.5GB/240Min DVD+R Double Layer Spindle on for $64.99. Unfortunately I don't think they carry the printable disks.

    Hi,
    How are the: 10 Pack Verbatim (95166) 2.4X - 8X DL DVD+R Double Layer 8.5GB? And: Ritek RiData 5 Pack Double Layer DVD+R Media 2.4X 8.5GB?

Which one is better, the Verbatim ones above are brand new I believe (because it's 8x). So which one should I choose? Verbatim or the Ritek? The Ridata one comes with a DVD+RW.

    All advice is appreciated :)!
