I'm amateur photographer and had thought several months ago if I will continue to take so many photos I necessarily will face with a problem when I'll be able to lose needed jpg's my computer in vast number of folders. As this is happened now, I'm looking for some software which can be helpful in this case...
So are you saying that you want a program that can list all the jpg photos you have on your PC since you don't have them all in one place?
Hi I'm a keen photographer as well and, like you, realised long ago there is no poiont taking thousands of pics if you can never find them again. Cataloguing is all important. There are quite a few programmes around. Best is Adobe Photoshop Elements - great utilities for editing cataloguing and backing up photos. Not cheap and is fairly resource hungry. It is what I use. Best value - easy. Google Picasa. It is free. I suggest you download a copy and have a play around. Also has limited functionality for editing but quite a good capacity to catalogue and backup on to removable media. I hope this helps.
let me know too.... I have a great camera and many lenses, too and take plenty of shots! I would love to catalog my photos. the only thing is that to view them all would be a hassel as there would be too many to show up in thumbnails, and view all the pages and pages and pages of them. they would have to go into folders, seperating them by topic or place or instence. Any viewing program will do. But if you find one good enough, please post here: My camera: that's taken with a my dumb camera phone. here is the links to what I have: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos10d/ http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=149&modelid=9802 also have wide angle lens and a 56mm lens, all Cannon! I have beautiful shots, too.... from the beaches of Ft Lauderdale to the Rockie Mountains in Colorado! and everything in between.
