    Hello Forum Members:

Computer slow at multi-tasking and also need extra CPU for video and audio encoding.

My system is about 2 1/2 years old. A Dell 5150 with a Pentium D820 Dual Core 2.8 GHz, DDR2 SD RAM 533 MHz and 1 GB of memory(2 x 512). I've upgraded my sound card to an Audigy SE; graphics are NVIDIA 6800; TV Tuner, etc.

As far as I know, I believe my system will take up to maximum of 4 GBs.

Would just upgrading the memory to extra 1 GB x 2 plus the existing help?

Can I or do I need to look at the processor?

    Thanks,

    Hi ddp:

Thanks so much for the documentation. I've order two 1 GB RAM memory cards.

It's a good thing you sent me the instructions. From what I've read I'm suppose to take the existing memory of 2 x 512 and put them on one side and place the new memory on the other side.

Will let you know what happens, thanks a bunch,

    Hi ddp:

Great news. Did my clean install and I'm slowly adding programmes back on my system.

I just installed my new 2 x 1GBs memory and it took awhile but I was finally able to get them in their new slots.

Yipppey! I now have 3 GBS of memory. Sweet!

    Big thanks,

    katy
