If only I thought to ask here a couple of days ago for a code for my 6030, but it's too late for that now, the codes are locked now and it appears Nokia hasn't even made a data cable for them yet.

Even with a data cable, you will not be able to unlock the 6030 with it. It's a DCT 4 type phone and will have to be unlocked with a DCT 4 clip only.

 

Ok... and how do I get one of those? LOL. And while we're on that subject, what exactly is a clip in this instance? DCT 4 I understand though

The clip costs about $200.00 to $400.00 and only worth buying if you're going to do a lot of phones. I connects directly to the phone and unlocks it within a minute or less. check iunlock.com or you may have someone local that does phone unlocking.

 

Bugger :s that's not a happy number! However, something odd has happened, my phone appears to accept codes again, or at least it looks like it does, which is odd because I'm sure it locked up the last time I tried it. So any chance of getting another unlock code from you?

Have you verified with another sim that it is definately locked? Some of those that are assigned to Virgin are already unlocked.

 

Yes, I have a Vodafone sim in at the moment and it's restricted. Telstra is also restricted. Optus isn't, however it seems Virgin runs with the Optus network so that is probably why.

Damn :S it looks like it's locked. "Cannot undo restriction". Would a software update work? I rang up a local phone shop and they said that might be the only chance they have of unlocking it.

Never heard of that happening but I'm pretty positive the clip will be the only option.

 

Would it instead be able to reset the counter for unsuccessful code entries? Because I have a worrying doubt that one of these clip things doesn't exist in my city :s
