Hi i have had a pc build for me and had problems with it for like a month then i took it back to the shop and he fixed it what was happening is that when i turn it on it will start to boot normally then when it gets past the loading of windows xp when it is about to load the password screen it will just restart for no reason i have checked everything inside and i have tried it in safe mode and last known good configuration when this happens just before i usually get trouble with my sound card could this be the problem my sound just goes till i restart. but the blue screen just has loads of coding on it and you don't have time to see it i know its not a virus because i put my hard drive in my mates pc and it worked fine so i really really need help with this because the guy at the shop is a jerk and i can't be doing with this it is really stressing me out i would appreciate all help on this

    thank you all :)

Hmm, for starters give us your system specs please, thanks. Ok, I'm leaning towards the fact that you either have bad ram, a faulty power supply, or your sound card or sound card drivers are behind the bsod. My suggestion would be to remove the sound card to see if windows boots without a blue screen, that very well could be the problem or a thousand other things, but we won't think that way. Now, you haven't overclocked the system or made any changes in the bios have you??? Did you make any hardware or sofware changes yourself, or did it randomly just start with the bsod's?? Get back with us...thanks

Man, i have the same problem. Been having it for a while now, but recently just formatted the Hdd and reinstalled windows. But from what people told me, 1st check the Power supply. 2nd try replacing the IDE/SATA Hdd cable. 3rd do a chkdsk from DOS. If still noting, its probably a bad Hdd or going bad. IT also might have to do something with the master boot record. Let me know how it comes out.

GrandpaBW, we are not here to talk about my puntuation i was in a rush its not like it is the end of the world how does this affect you?

I know its not my hdd because like i said i put it in a different pc and it all loaded straight away there wasn't a single problem and it is a new hdd but tonight i am going to remove the sound card like "elusiv1" suggested because everytime before this happens my sound starts going funny so i will see how i get on and let you all know i am currently using a crap pentium 2 lol with 128 mb ram which is pretty funny com-pared to what i am used to but its better than nothing lol :)

GranpaBW mentions your punctuation as it is very difficult to comprehend exactly what you are saying. It's like the longest sentence in the world.
If you make it difficult to read, then people will not read it, myself included!
128RAM is a ludicrously low RAM for XP. XP generally needs 256RAM just to run. With such low RAM your PC will ALWAYS struggle to run. It will never run smoothly. Sounds like the chap who built your PC knows nothing about PCs!
Most people have at least 512RAM for XP. Win98 would run on 128RAM, but not XP....

Check the FSB speed you either changed it of something but go to BIOS and reset the BIOS to defaults. If this doesnt work....Buy a new PC.
