[13:34:59] DVDEngine DVDEngineXceptFilter(): Caught SEH Exception 0xc0000005
[13:34:59] DVDEngine DVDEngineXceptFilter(): Exception was raised from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\Lib\NeEm2v.dll at RVA 0x00001EDA

That excerpt above is now where my nero vision 5 ends when trying to either convert a avi to dvd or now even take a pal dvd and convert over to ntsc.

Already used the clean tools and reinstalled.

Nero never responded to 2 direct trouble tickets. They also have not responded to a post in their offial forums from someone else having what seem to be the identical problem.

I can find "nothing" anywher on the web to help me try and troubleshootthis when searching for problems with that dll.

This log ending snippet was converting a dvd...but it stops with the same message when converting a vi to dvd also..whetehr burning to hard drive or to the disk.

Never used to have any problems with this until about 2 weeks ago...

if something has changed IM not quite sure where to look.

I have other pieces of software but the point is Ive paid for enro and while tis not as fast its convienant sometimes.

ANY thoughts or help would be aprpeciated as searching the web leads me nowhere.

    Thanks!

I am posting this because I have found several other forums including the main nero forum and no one seems to be able to give a good answer or fix for the neem2v.dll problem.

Today I decided to try one last thing...I looked for a codec package that was very complete and also would tell me and offer to remove any "bad" codecs..( Ive tried this also by uninstalling and even downloading the xp codec pack..but no good).

In any case I downloaded today the "K-Lite Codec Pack Full v4.1.4" from the download section here on afterdawn (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/)

It said in its description that it search and offer to fix /remove broken codecs.

I installed it and followed all of its "advice". It found about 20 some Nero codecs that it said had bad reg entries and were broken...don't ask me how ..Ive used the nero clean tool and uninstalled and reinstalled about 3 times...even manually going thru the reg...

    but anyhow...

    that seemed to do it.

I have now made complete burns and transcodes no problem...one using the very same avi file ( the fringe pilot) that I have been using to test with and was having the problems with..

My nero vision nopw seems to be working again without a problem and no more seh exceptions.

I am VERY disappointed in neros offical trouble ticket system....all they would tell me to do was to uninstall, do the clean too,and reinstall..which I did 3 times and no good.

( by the way...I did NOT uninstall and reinstall after doign this codec pack today...works like a champ now)

Anyhow hopefully someone else with teh same problem can maybe try this approach...could be that the neem2v.dll comes from bad codecs...would haev been nice for nero to confirm or deny.
