Nero 5.5.100+Windows XP+Could not perform Fixation

I am consistantly getting "fixation errors" with my Cendyne 48x CD-R using Nero 5.5.100 and XP

I saw an earlier post about this and it said to "disable IMAPI CD Burning ROM service" in "under Control Panel | Services in Windows XP".

Hmmm. I don't have a "Control Panel | Services in WIndows XP".

I'm making a LOT of coasters! Can anyone help?

There's a 'services' menu if you right click on 'my computer' and click on 'Manage'. It might be located in there.

No, it didn't work. It seems to be OK for smaller amounts of data being written to the CDs, but for 651Mb, I always get fixation errors. OTOH, the disks do seem to be readable and usable, even with the fixation errors. I just uninstalled Nero and am trying Roxio CD-Easy creator, V6.

FYI, I just installed Roxio CD-Easy Creator V.6.

I burned a full CD image. It worked perfectly.

That's my choice for now for backups!
