I want you to know I am not a regular and the little bit I knew I lost when in the hospital, chemo, etc. I am trying to follow the rules, I searched everywhere. Net, in the forum, I believe I just need the updates that were given to me by Binky in a PM that enabled me to burn AVI files. Those links are dead links now. If anyone can help me or tell me where to look..I understand everyone else doesn't have time to do others work Once I get those updates, I will try to get back to remembering how to burn and If I can't i will search before asking questions. Hey thanks, in a very matter of fact way, I am going to get that, then refresh my memory with how to download and burn or record from Hauppauge and burn (from that I don't think I need to do anything) and if I have any questions I will come back, but rest assured I will certainly search before asking how to burn avi vs mpeg It confuses me totally. Honestly I did know it all once but if u don't use it all regularly u lose it. thanks so so much eric

While I wasn't totally prepared to get into this at 3am, I just figured I would get this question off my chest in case I forgot and maybe you had an answer It seems that (Did you see a link or those two programs that Binky or someone had me "ADD ON" a year or two) Well, I guess it would have paid me to know why they were telling me to get them. LOL Because now I am in a position of where I had to ask, I did search, but you gave me a program that "APPEARS" to be different and is asking for a code and has run out. Are there similar programs that I was given a year or two ago and can you tell me why they were even needed. I assume it is because I was having a heck of a time burning, but it has been so long. I am so conscious in these forums--I don't think I broke any rules here even. I did review. I went ahead and did what you recommended If I did, accept my apology
I assumed you had a valid serial from your Nero 6 installation. That is the best update for Nero Vision Express, which is what handles conversions and such. It should work unless you have a crippled OEM version of Nero or bad serial. Nero updates usually consisted of 3 downloads. One and two was all that was needed. In your case no.2 seemed like all you needed if you where planning video work.
I am so frustrated. Please forgive me. I believe I have a total LACK of knowledge of the process. I don't see the original Smart"something" of the Nero, I don't know what Nero Mix is and I can't access it anyway, fwiw, I have a roommates copy of Nero, and I wanna know the terms...he paid for it so it so it is a valid serial right? i.e. paid for=valid serial I could go forward and backward on this question to make me understand it it is crazy LOL Why didn't I need whatever you gave me when I downloaded the two copies that I had on that page. Trust me, if you think what you are reading and explaining isn't appreciated, you are mistaken. PLease don't take time to get back if u don't have it, I do understand. I just get nervous, don't have a high concentration level and memory (post chemo etc) but just wanna get back to the basics. Don't like change. would like to get back to where I was then when I have a good day try to burn a film and see if I can search how (trust me I do remember u need to do that) and if I can't ask
You only had to download one, they are the same just different download locations. That's a very vague term. What's the 'film' that you want to burn? It is a DVD you want to copy? Is it a downloaded AVI? Do you have a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive?
Thanks again I am not sure if I am getting anywhere, thru no fault of yours. 1. So if the version I have, listed above was paid for, it is, as you called it a 'valid serial' right? 2. I am just formatting the puter so I am just putting the disk/program on the computer--I don't currently have a file to burn, thus the answer to your question do I have a video_ts now? You did ask if I have an AVI. That I guess is the root of the entire problem of why I don't know how to burn, look it up or get taught and don't burn enough and then have heallth tragedies and then "lose it' So does Nero then burn AVI or Neither without these extra files I am looking for (the one you gave the link to) And per my previous remark, I downloaded your link and saw NO StartSmart. Is that not needed? And what is Mix? I think that is enough that I could ADMITEDLY ....VERY PRESUMPTUOUSLY take the time to try to help. I am really sorry I just don't get it and can't retain what you may have explained.
