My old computer was on the brink of disaster when I decided to back up as myuch info as possible.
I copied all my files to a dvd-rw using Nero version 6.3
My new computer both with has the same operating system as the old (xp) had nero 6.6 installed on it.
When I try to open the compressed files I get the following message.
"The folder does not exist. Do you want to create the named folder?
    I hit yes.
Then I get the next message that says "Sorry, the folder cannot be created. The path is not correct."

So I tried using the Nero 6.6 backitup restore. This is the message I receive.
"You are trying to restore NeroBackitup compressed file. This file can be restored directly with double click in Windows Explorer."

Well when I go to Windows Explorer I get all of the same messages saying the path is not correct.
I am trying to open a simple microsoft word file with the name doc3.doc
I tried opening it with winzip, microsoft word and everything else on this computer.
    Can someone advise me please???
    Thanx,
    Mari

I didn't think I needed to state the obvious otherwise I wouldn't have come to this forum. I guess snide answers are all I'll receive here.
Nevermind............thread closed, thanx for the support!

    @ Zoopi,
chill out, this was one suggestion in a long list.Where is the snide comment. We have to start some where to make sure you have tried absolutely everything possible to get the best results and your problem solved.Unfortunately for you, you didnt take the time to actually state the obvious and jumped head 1st into thinking this was a snide comment. You dont know me and i dont know you, but this forum has a lot of people who are very knowledgeable about most things.\

You havent even bothered to say: oh yeah i tried the nero tech and there reply was!

your question is vague to boot , i'm not a mind reader, you younguns think its a quick fix these days and when you percieve a slight its well i can be rude to.This wont be tolerated here by the mods and as such i'm unsubscribing from this thread.

Hope you get a result but i dont think isobuster will retrieve locked data like your problem, you may require some other unlock program that is associated with nero
