I was told by someone that with nero you could copy avi, mpeg, and other file directly to a dvd using nero. When I open up nero and set the top drop down box to dvd. The only thing that comes up for making a video is a data dvd. Which I do not want to do. I want burn these file directly to a dvd that will play on a dvd player. Thanks for any help
Hi, Would recommend taking a look at this link http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/390848#2352118. Pretty easy to follow for converting avi to dvd compliant files. Also I would suggest upgrading to last version of nero 6 known to be stable Nero version 6.6.0.18 updates: Package 1 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html Run the clean tool to completely remove your current version of nero, reboot and then install version 6.6.0.18. Also do not install incd as it is a packet writing software and can conflict while trying to burn a dvd.
Look at that thread you said to look at. I have nero express and not nero vision. Maybe that why I cannot burn avi file. Or is it a way to do it using nero express.
Hi, When you download the last stable version of nero 6 you will have nero vision express (Package 2). Remember to write your serial number down before using the cleantool and use it for 6.6.0.18.
Although however true that advice is, I thought that INCD doesnt come with those packs. Please let me know the truth to this as I thought I remembered it being totally different and were saving those links for my next hard drive reformat. Thanks
I did as you said and now have nero 6.6.o.18 and nero vision express 3 se, but it only have make cd and do not make dvd on it.
Hi, Correct incd does not come with those packets but some will download it anyway as they 'heard' you need it to use nero. There is the option to switch between cd and dvd. There should be an icon at the top of the startsmart that when highlighted says dvd-video.
>>>>.. Nero vision express 3 se, The SE sounds like you only have an OEM serial which will not allow you the full use of Nero.
Hi, With the oem the only function I know for sure will not be available is the svcd playback using nero showtime. Vcd burning and viewing is possible. With do a google and get back to see what else is not functional with retail vs oem. http://nerooem.com/ this link will show you what is available for oem vs nero retail. above excerpt taken from nero website. A [bold]google search [/bold] not from the nero website will provide you with the dvd plugin (please note it is not pirated/ cracked..offered for free)needed for dvd making/ burning.
No DVD video work with SE versions. The DVD plugin is NOT free. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/DVD_Video_Plug_In.html
Hi, In the hopes of not deviating from the original topic/ starting an unnecessary flamewar: Since when is vcd not video or am I mistaken. *edited to input the word not
