Hi. I used to make audi cds with Nero using MP3s all of the time. But now The burn goes as usual but when I play back the audio cd there are problems with the playback--not so smoothly--and the original mp3s play fine on the computer with winamp. I tried installing the LAME MP3 v1.0.0.32 plug-in from bitburners.com and installed it in the correct plug-ins folder. But still have same result with audio cd--am I supposed to choose the plug-in with Nero somehow? How? Also if I decode the mp3s to wav with another program and then make an ausio CD it plays fine. How can I eliminate this step? I am using win xp pro service pack 2. thanks dan
when u first get nero you have trial period of there mp3 plugin which you then have to purchase. i'm not sure you can use external mp3 encoders with nero daz
Ok I figured this out after checking around here and on the web. I got the lame mp3 plug-in from here: http://www.bitburners.com/Nero_Audio_Plugins/ And since I have Nero 6.6, I installed it in this directory: ---unzip the plugin DLL into "\Program Files\CommonFiles\Ahead\AudioPlugins" but still I had the problems with burning MP3s to an audio cd--skips and not good playback So what to do? Well, open NERO and go to FILE/PREFERENCES Under GENERAL TAB, click on PLUG-IN LOOKUP button and find the LAME MP3 plugin listed--highlight it--then use the MOVE UP button to move it above the mp3PRO plugin so that NERO uses LAME and not mp3PRO. I tested it and viola! Success at last! I hope someone finds this info helpful. danCER
