okay, i know that i have burned .flac files to audio cds in the past. i recently got a new computer and re-installed my nero 6 and for some reason it is not recognizing the flac files and will not burn them to a cd. any ideas on how to fix this?
Try typing flac files in the search bar at the top of the page...there are a few threads referring to these files
Yes.. it is a lack of the right codec, or the one you have may be wrongly configured (nero doesn't know where it is) k-lite codec pack cures all these issues 99% of the time. Use a little care.. If you install too many codecs you can get a strange problem with .avi thumbnails in windows file manager. If you can play the files in a media player you have the codec installed.. if that seems to be the case you can get a self installing codec from the dbpoweramp site. ::Note to others.. some OEM versions of nero6 didn't have very many codecs enabled for "on the fly" convert and burn. Installing more will not fix the problem as there is no handler for them in the application code itself.. 6.6.03c (compaq/HP oem preinstalled) was one of those which had no ogg or flac handler routines..
Thanks all for your responses. I did eventually find a plugin to install and now it seems to be working just fine. I appreciate the help.
You can download 3rd party codecs for FLAC and SHN lossless files here on AfterDawn. search for Nero plugins and the page should come up... http://neroplugins.afterdawn.com/
