Hi newbie here, have used the site for many reasons, but this is the first time I've needed to post.

Basically using Nero 6 Enterprise edition. Have used it to burn plenty of CDs, but recently have got into burning DVDs (or at least trying!) The burn process works perfectly and the film I'm burning plays back fine on my player - However towards the end of the film, the images begin to stick and it gets jumpy - so much so that it seems to jumps huge chunks of the film, then gets to the end and stops playing. I had a similar problem burning a VCD, and worked out that i was burning it too fast, so re-burnt that slower and played back fine. Am I having a similar problem - I am only offered one write speed though so I don't know what to do.

    All help appreciated!

you almost answered your own question. your issue is with the media! If it's burning and you're playing it and then have problems at the end it could be 2 things..... you're burning too close to the edge of the disk..... if you can burn no more than 4384mb..... that will leave you room at the outer edge of the disk. Next would be the media itself..... here is a media guide for you so you can check to see what's good and what's crappy media:
    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
the rule here is: Use [bold]Made In Japan (MIJ)[/bold] meida. The only exception is Verbatim (which is made in Taiwan/Singapore) is top notch media, too. So read your lables on the disks and make sure you got an MIJ! Can't go wrong with VErbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, Sony, Fuji (make sure MIJ!). once you have a top notch media in your burner you will see the available burning speeds for Nero ..... from 16x an lower, depending on the disk. Make sure your firmware is up to date to accept the disks:
check your burner here and see if you have the most up to date firmware:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
just put in your make and model # in the search box
you can use Nero InfoTool to find out your make and model of your burner as well as your current firmware.
