I have been through this for days now with little headway.
I have compaq TS-H492A with Nero 6 Ultra, DVDdecrypter, shrink and DVD43. I can get to HD and supposedly it is right size range but the burn part always kicks out looking for a double disc.
I have HP dvd-r 16x 4.7. I have Memorex Double DVD+r 8.5 and the burner does not recognize either of them.
I am not very proficient here so help would be appreciated.
I do not know where to get log file to send.

    thread teleported to relevant forum.

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

However Nero 6.x is no good for burning dual layer as it can't handle the layer break and i don't think Nero 7.x is any good for dual layer either (though i'm sure someone will correct me re 7.x if they know otherwise). i'm a staunch and stubborn advocate of Nero 6.6.0.18 you see.. have no need or intention in upgrading or changing it..

One program that can handle the layer break is imgburn (www.imgburn.com), free and often updated, though it only works with ISO files as far as i'm aware. (i don't bother with dual layer myself)

I don't know if this is it, I do not have a history file in the folder. I tried a disc that does not have encrpytion and has right size for 4.7. Burned to HD both as folder and as Image.

The burner does not recognize anything I put in it to burn, it seems.
When the original disc was left in the message was not enough space, when I put in the HPDVD it says put in valid target, same with the Memorex dual layer 8.5.

I really do not understand this process. What am I burning and to where and how what file and the more I read the more confused I seem to be. Sorry.

I do not have nero full suite installed only the first two and then followed your links to the upgrades and downloaded and installed those. Is the problem the player itself or how it is set.

Thanks for getting back to me, I will try to get my head around this.

I have the same/similar problem on two machines. Here is log file for the Win2K machine. It could be memeory problem but I think more.
