i used nero6 memorex suite to backup over 600 songs that i downloaded from napster and grokster because i had to reinstall on my computer and didn't want to lose the music. now that my computer's slate has been wiped clean, i cannot open the music files!!! i've tried everything, trust me. i used the backitup restore application from Nero and saved the files as mp3's but they still will not play through realplayer because the songs are still showing that they are nero backitup compressed files and i get a message that they are not files that realplayer recognizes. can someone please tell me what to do to be able to hear my songs again?? i would really appreciate it so much! Thanx! -Mel
Are you using the latest version of Nero BackItUp? If you burned them with BackItUp then it would have setup the discs in an order, the first disc should have a folder and a .nbi file on it, I beleve there is also a txt file telling you and Nero the disc number. You can also uncompress the file by double clicking on them, it will then attempt to do this and open the original with the associated app. in you case RealPlayer. But I would make sure that you have the latest version, your backups could contain file formating that is only in the latest. Don't hesitate to post back an update.
