I am burning a B/U DVD of folders on my computer and all appears to work well with Nero messages saying that the burn and verification are OK. However when I try and view the DVD in MS Explorer no icons display and the DVD appears blank. ( I can successfully see files on a TV DVD player) I am running Nero OEM 6.6.1.15 and Nero Digital 3.1.0.25 ( not sure which one does the burn). Previous versions of Nero (Ver 2) use to work OK for me.

    Any one any ideas.

so the dvd works on a standalone player ok...

    ok

i have seen this before and with myself a blank unwritten dvdr is seen on a pc and can be burnt ok, BUT¬! soon as you put this dvdr back in pc to be read its not seen...

ok try a firmware update to the drive get imgburn go to TOOL/DRIVE/Check formware updates...

or try a different dvdr brand / dye mid code, iether TY or Verbatim

Thanks for the reply - I have updated the firmware from the Lite On website and my folders are now visible - I can see the files which I had previously burned. It must have been the fact that the later version of Nero did not work without the the firmware update. I bought some Verbatim DVD's just in case but the Philips ones I have previuosly used now seem OK

I much appreciate your help - thanks

ah philips not a good disc

stick with those verbs play back will be alot better, less jumping freezing or problems burning to outer edge of discs etc...

and also they will still be able to be viewed a year later

as cheapo discs degrade, dont put anything important on philips!
