    Hello brothers and sisters,

Right...let me get straight to the point. I think I have made enough Mitsubitshi DVD-R coasters for my neighborhood tonight. So I have to admit I can't solve these Nero problems myself.

I use a NEC ND-3530A DVD-RW writer (firmware version 3.01), running WinXP, using Nero 6.6.0.18.

Here is my problem log sheet:

    ================

I have solved several weird problems already. But this "Burn Process Failed at 8X" is really getting on my nerve, as I have changed the burn speed to 6x already.

Can anyone help me on this? Please?

    Many Thanks!

    Michael

    hi :)

check and update your firmware from here
    http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/Nec/index3.shtml
DMA should be on (if one is down it can drag the other down)

your burning a tad close to the edge of the disc where the dye is sometimes uneven/missing. set your DVD target at 4360

    this is a burn error

if after the firmware and DMA..no luck. check that your burner is ok.
blow out the dust..use a cleaner to give the lazer a clean

not a lot wrong with your media (Verbatim)
with these 8x burn speed should be ok

    Thanks!

I have checked the DMA and they are all turned on. I even followed the steps in http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070626084150AAjQoc9 and double-confirm both devices on Primary and Secondary IDE Channels are "DMA if Available". So I don't know why Nero thinks it's off.

The firmware I have is 3.01, so I think it's more updated than 1.04c, right? Moreover, when I tried to flash it with 1.04c, the system says "Target NEC ND-3530A is not found correctly".

    Thanks in advance once again!

    This error TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND)

Is usually 9/10 poor disk quality are they verbatim? Even if they are don’t take it as gospel that it’s not a problem with the disk’s I had a pack of 25 some years ago of verbatim only 2 of the 25 was any good
