@discboy Here is the link on that: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
I just wondered, I have my new notebook and my new disc of Nero Ultra 6. I imagine I will have to install it and then use Nero clean tool to uninstall it and then D/L this Link??? On my 3 yr old toshiba notebook which has a Nero Ultra 6 cd as well, the version that has been running on it is 6.6.0.6 and i have never upgraded; however since I bought this new notebook I thought that I should insure that I have the most stable version on it as I have no intention of going to Nero 7 for sometime after discussions in this forum and as well other dvd forums. I would appreciate comments as I am new to dealing with correct d/l of updates to Nero programs and don't want to mess up my new notebook. Thankyou.
Now you've got the right version numbers it's safe to say you can update to 6.6.0.18 without uninstalling this is so far everbody's fav . I'm I right Nero Guru's ?
why does almost everyone seem to hate nero 7? i have nero 7 ultra edition & haven't had any problems yet..
@dougal79, As with Nero6 there are some "buggy" versions of Nero7...I have been using version 7.0.8.2 since it's release and have not encountered any problems to date...I have found version 7.2.3.2/7.2.3.2b also buggy but some members like it...I guess it's what works best for you, Cheers.
i couldnt find out that way. when i selected info tool it scanned my computer & told me everything about my computer. i found out another way & my version is 7.0.1.2......thanks
Just wanted to double insure that after I install my new ultra 6 disc which I was fortunate to find in one of my small retail computer haunts ($59 cdn incl taxes) the store did a buy out before school started and thus the great price and find!!! I just wanted to confirm that after I install it and get my key that in order to update to 6.6.6.18 (which I understand that there are 2 parts to) that I can simply d/l over top of my new install and not have any problems. I have always been of the impression that I had to use a Nero Clean Tool all of the time, but is the use of that only necessary when you are going install a 3rd update?? Is this lack of need to use it b/c I am doing my first update after the install of this ultra 6 version that i don't have to worry? I hope that you don't mind the silly question, I am simply trying to get an understanding of when I have to use the Nero Clean Tool. Also I would appreciate opinions on what the toshiba tech said and that was to simply stop the Sonic Record Now at Startup and there should be no problems with Nero and Sonic in the sense that Sonic is simply sitting on the notebook and not starting at boot?? I would get rid of Sonic Record Now altogether but it is fundamental, I found out the hard way to correct issues with the notebook which occurred recently and I had removed Sonic Record Now as I had and have no plans unless I have notebook problems again to use it. Then I will have to do a clean uninstall the toshiba tech said of Nero in order to avoid conflicts. Does this disabling at start up make sense that there should be no conflicts with Nero 6? Just thought that I would ask the experienced users since I have some knowledge of burning and conflicts of programs but not an awful lot. Your experienced commments would be greatly appreciated, thankyou.
@appa When I went to 6.6.0.18, I used the Clean Tool and double clicked on the link. Neither of these take long. To be safe, I would consider doing it that way. You certainly can just run the update, but the Clean Tool insures that there are no "over writing" issues (for lack of a better term). @rbrock I am not a "Nero Guru", but I am one of many who have used 6.6.0.18 with much success. I might add, in all fairness, that there are many who would use nothing but Nero 7, just as gwendolin said in a previous post. When you get down to it, I think it is just a matter of what you like.
What is the best link for the Nero Clean Tool?? Thankyou for all of the constructive comments. I simply want to make certain that I d/l the correct Clean Tool as I never know if there is a change of version or not since I don't do a lot of burning, only as a hobby with my home copies of mini dv and of course my data backups. Best Regards

I'll be doing this a little later on and will post back my results after attempting a backup. I really want to thank members here for bearing with my Noob queries. The atmosphere here is very comfortable and non intimidating. We all do have to start off new at some point or another, however I have been in some forums that I had belonged to and was chastised to the point that I left them as inspite of the fact that i try to do my home work and google and search other forums and posted what I considered to be a fairly logical and somewhat informed query b/c of the prior research and time I spent to make an understandable post; I was made to feel stupid. But not here at this forum and I really commend the Mods/Admin/Members of their professional and knowledgeable approach to handling Noob questions like mine!! Again many thankyous>
