When I tried to burn War of the Worlds with Nero6 I got the first vob that I wanted and then it ruined the disc before completing the burn..,what's up with that? I thought that was suppose to work????????
let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======" am also subscribed to these two which are more than likely caused by the same problem as this one probably is - ie i think we just need to tweak your Nero settings which should be confirmed by the logfile.. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262715 http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/261996
@creaky Sup buddy..? Nice catch there, on the other threads. I don't know why (monstirz) is having trouble encoding War Of The Worlds (this movie should be done easily) -- this is in related to his other 2 threads (i.e. Nero 7 and DVD Shrink). Anyhow, I think there is definitely something else is wrong. @monstirz I don't know why you're getting errors while using DVD Shrink, but I ripped it via File Mode using DVD Decrypter and it went smoothly. Below is the method I used and it successfully ripped using DVD Decrypter via File Mode, then I have DVD Shrink set on "Deep Analysis" and plus "Maximum Sharpness" on the quality, which it took 2 passes (again, I still prefer Nero Recode 2 because Recode 2 is much faster). However, for this movie WAR OF THE WORLDS, I'm going to use DVD Shrink. Finally, I burned it with Nero Burning Rom -- overall, it's flawless. *NOTE: (1) for this movie, I'm going to burn with Nero Burning Rom. (2) when you're going to "encode" with DVD Shrink you can set the Target to be either burn with Nero or create ISO Image and burn with DVD Decrypter. A) make a folder in hard drive called WAR OF THE WORLDS and VIDEO_TS inside "WAR OF THE WORLDS" B) now DVD Decrypter is done so you can exit out. C) open up DVD Shrink ,click Open Files and just encode it as your usual shrinking steps. D) now I'm going to burn using Nero Burning Rom
hey alkohol, those screenshots are spot on, very professional looking and highlighted very well, your screenshot examples are coming on in leaps and bounds... ...plus in this particular instance, having screenshots of War of the Worlds is a touch of genius, very good stuff indeed.
@creaky Thanks for the kind compliment buddy. Just like the usual, we (you and I) are here to help out newbies when they needed us. I thought, I would give him/her (monstirz) and other newbies a better example that's all.
Yes ,I am trying half a movie without DVD shrink for better quality..,it freezes at the end of last vob..,then I continue on the next disc. Shrink has lesser quality but since I have dual layer I will probably do it that way from now on ..,the dru800a has dvd9 capability..,yet to try this..,this launched my enthusiasm once again as dvdxcopy died (judicial intervention ? or something)and international will not give me any support(pay their new price or go without) I found a better solution here..,thanx so much..,Jimo ps what is wrong with making one copy so that you can watch it when you want? I would never bootleg them for a living!! We always pay for controllers and their wants while the rest of us work hard.
What movie are you trying to encode/compress with DVD Shrink and freeze? Honestly, I'm sorta lost here now. You're not talking about "War Of The Worlds" are you? If so, this movie should runs through DVD Shrink smoothly. Hmmmm.... I've never heard or seen how/where to reset/enable DMA back On for ATI card storage of captured files. Again, I'm sorta lost here as well. However, I can show you how to enable your DVD burner, DVD/CD-ROM or IDE Channels drivers/controler's DMA back On. ((To enable DMA back ON by "uninstalling" its driver “for Win XP users” by alkohol)) Here are some helpful pictures for references. A) on "DESKTOP" right click on "MY COMPUTER," left click on "PROPERTIES" B) left click on "HARDWARE," left click on "DEVICE MANAGER" C) left click on + sign of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers D) double left click on either “Primary” or “Secondary IDE Channel” E) left click on "DRIVER," left click on "UNINSTALL" You will see a "Warning: you are about to uninstall this device from your system," just click "OK," now "SHUTDOWN" or "Restart" your computer F) once you restarted your computer, Windows should automatically detect your DVD burner’s drive and re-install it for you. That's it...easy as smoking!! **NOTE: do these steps only if the above process failed to bring DMA back on, or you can do exactly like the above steps, except this time you "Uninstall" it from the “DVD/CD-ROM Drives” ****at Device Manager**** (A) left click on + sign of DVD/CD-ROM Drives (B) double left click on your DVD burner or your DVD-ROM drive (C) click on "DRIVER," "UNINSTALL," "OK" and then "Shutdown" or "Restart" your computer. That's it... easy as smoking!!! Enjoyed it..!!
On my double click of primary and secondary I get primary and secondary pages after general tab but no advanced settings then clicking on those tabs it reads "no Device" for both of my hard drives c and f on both pages ..,what now? Its differsent for me somehow Al Kohol
So is everything back to normal (working now)? Anyways, "uninstall the driver"<-- that is exactly what my DMA guide said above. With that being said, in the future, if you ever experience any DMA issue (Off/PIO Mode), then just simply "uninstall" its driver and Windows should "automatically" reinstall it for you once you restarted your computer.
