ive just noticed that the speed displayed by nero is not right. i have a 24x speed cd burner in my laptop. but nero is only displaying and burning at 8x. if winamp is running while i burn nero will give me the 24x speed, but fail the burn with a 'invalid command sequence' error. but if i close winamp before i start the burn it will burn fine. ive recently upgraded my burner to a uj-846 and its rated at 24x. so i want my 24x in nero. does anyone know how i can get my speed. Negamist PS in nero's infotool the max speed even says 8x
Do you have an up-to-date firmware for your burner? I would also remove the current version of nero and install Version 7.0.8.2. The version that you have was reported to have some bugs.
ive just downloaded and installed the latest version of nero (7.0.8.2), and i re-checked with the infotool. its now showing the correct speed if 24x. there is a newer firmware that is out for my drive, but i have yet to find an upgrade utility for it (latest: FA0G vs mine: F100). i've been hearing alot of things about 7.0.5.4 and since i haden't really been using it since my upgrades i really didn't notice that anything was wrong until last night. i see that it replaced the mp3pro.dll with the 5.0.2.1 version that causes skipping. just swapped that out. ill do some testing probably over the weekend to make sure every is in working order. Thanks Negamist
The only firmware I see for your drive is F101 and can be found here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces
i tried the firmware upgrade and i said couldn't find drive. i noticed that it said hitachi oem. so i don't know if it will work in a sony laptop?!?!!??
