when checking my history file ive noticed that every time i burn a dvd the free phsical memory decreases .it started at around 600mb and is now down to 194.the only item running in my start up is nortons.i had read there was some type of conflict with nero and norton but i thought it was a different version of nero.this does appear to affect picture quality.any ideas.
The only thing I can remember about Norton is that it has a Protected Recycle Bin. When you delete files, Norton will hang on to them so your avalable disc space begins to drop as it fills up. More info: http://www.short-media.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-4030.html Free Physical memory is the amount of RAM available so this is not causing that. Check your task manager and see what processes are running. Chances are that many of them can be stopped while you are copying. You can turn off your anti-virus and other internet related programs for example. Norton does not conflict with Nero and if it did, poor picture quality is not what you would have indicating a conflict. When programs conflict the result is usually a crash of the process along with an error message.
thx.heres what i know.i always check my task manager before burning and will end as many processes as i can.i usually start a burn with around 37 .after burn is complete ill check the history and the memory in use will indicate more ,ive seen it go as high as 80 and as is daid before free pysical continues to dwindle down.heres part of most recent disk history.
