I've updated to these latest versions of Nero 7. Here's what I got so far: I'm trying to use it to burn a large AVI to DVD. Chapters: Previous version of NeroVision would get hung up on creating chapters. In this (so far) latest version, it still takes a long time to automatically detect chapters, but it does a much better job of making them, and showing screen shots. Chapters Bug: if you're in "Create Chapters" and press play to see where it's at, the project won't play. Also, if you hover over some of the options, they are duplicated ie: put the mouse over "play" and you see a box with "play" listed twice, once in bold and once not. Oddly, I did not encounter these particular issues in the previous version. Creating menus: better now too - has more options, but it'd be nice to choose font size for chapter text. Preview: again, will NOT play the movie. Again, if you hover the mouse over "play", the word "play" will show twice in the box. And now the worst Problem: ** Trying to burn.** - It will say "Creating menus and transcoding streams" on top. - In the progress area, it will say "Preparing [title] for transcoding". <<There are 2 progress bars when trying to burn, each with their own Elapsed time counter>>: - The upper "current progress" goes green to the end pretty quickly, showing an Elapsed time of 00h 00m 01s. - The lower "total progress" bar does not move. - I have left it to run for two hours and it does NOT progress - 1)"Current Progress" Elapsed time remains at 01s, and bar still shows completely green... 2)"total progress" bar has not moved at all (but the "Total Progress" Elapsed time shows it's been running for two hours (this conflicts with the 'current progress' elapsed time... This is all the info I have to offer because it gets hung up right here, but it seems to have potential for doing exactly what I want. Someday I really hope to chapter/menu and burn that AVI file to a quality DVD... sigh...
So that I could comment on 7.2.3.2b, I tried it to burn 3 AVI flies which I had successfully burned using version 7.0.8.2, sadly each burn was unsatisfactory so I reverted to 7.0.8.2, tried them again with success…my conclusion..7.2.3.2b was a failure when it comes to burn AVI files. I did the following, uninstalled 7.2.3.2b, ran this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then installed 7.0.8.2 from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845
Hi Gwen.. I've seen that advice quite a bit on Afterdawn, but if I remember right the older version got hung up on creating chapters when I tried to use it on my large AVI file... and the once or twice it finally made them, it would insert the Nero logo intead of screen shots... edit: *chapters = chapters/menus What do you think?
