So I made the plunge to try Nero's latest, and was not happy. Nero Recode's burn speed option is grayed out. The booktype option is missing (I have a Benq drive). How typical of Nero to fix a few bugs and release dozens more!!! I'm rolling back to 7.0.8.2!
I'm going to give it a little while longer. If I revert though it will be back to 6.6.0.18. Too much crap in 7 I don't want. The bitsetting (booktyping) option is also available under Nero Tool Kit > CD-DVD Drive Speed>extra>bitsetting. Since I have a LiteOn in all versions this is the only place I can set it. I didn't have a problem with picking the burn speed in recode though - that and vision seemed to work well so far with what I've tried. Now the mp3 audio conversion is another story. Use what version works best for you and your set up!
Does anyone have the link to Nero 7.0.8.2 Ultra Edition that is on the Nero Website? I tried Nero's FTP and found only 7.0.5.4 and the latest version. Yuck!
Here ya go: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 Just use your serial # with it. Write it down before you uninstall. Oh and run the clean tool after you uninstall 7.2.3.2b. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html
Hey I'm batting 1000 on the dvd end though - 5 of far - 2 recode - 2 vision and 1 express. No errors - all good burn/conversions. Now the mp3 audio conversion - well batting 0 there Hell what did I expect! Just my 2 cents but I think there will be issues w/ Nero for at least a few more versions for some things. They are just trying to do too much with 1 peice of software. Oh and another of my pc's still has 6.6.0.18 on it - can't give up 6 yet edit: math error
If they were making cars then they would have to do a complete "Recall", it's hard to believe they dont test these versions before release. We should invite one of them to be a guest on this forum.
There used to be one here. I'm sure they test them (I would hope so at least). The question is how well and what system configs they're using. What may work well for one set up may not for another user and their set up. For Nero: http://www.cdrlabs.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=d76018fa08a026f8bc8c005ee8196646 Haven't looked there recently but may have to start! edit: spelling!!
Hi, RazorRip. I don't know which model of BenQ you have, but bitsetting for 1620/1640/1650/1655 not a problem for me. Nero Recodes' burn speed option not greyed out either.
