hi - i had nero 7 installed a while back and i had showtime with it and it was the new version - version 3 - had a red face etc. and was much better than version 2 - blue face -- i had to redo my computer from stratch and i installed the whole nero package again and have all the plugins for dvd video - blue ray - mp3pro etc. and i has showtime 2 only ? what happen to my showtime 3 ? i tried searching it on the web and cant find anything on it ? this is very strange -- i had it and now i dont - i have the premium version installed does anyone know how i can get back my showtime version 3 ? thanks
It should be in the Nero 7 package. Here is what the latest version lists, notice Showtime 3 http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-up.php But the version of Nero i recommend is 7.0.8.2 as there are some bugs in the latest Nero 7. http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 it should have showtime 3 in it. Write down your serial numbers and then use the Nero 7 cleantool, then install the 7.0.8.2 version. thanks - but i installed this same version before and i had it - i just redid windows with sp3 -- vista fixes etc, and installed all my programs again and when i installed the nero again it didnt have it anymore - it installed version 2 -- which i liked version 3 -- i really dont want to uninstall it again -- since i got everything running smooth and i dont have a problem using nero etc. -- i have the latest version of nero 7 - i think its 7.0.8.2 i belieave i just wondered if i could download just showtime 3 and install that -- but i cant find a download for just showtime anywhere just weird that i had it before and then wiped out windows and started over and now i dont have it ? any ideas on how i can get showtime 3 without uninstalling and reinstalling again -- thanks -
The only other thing i can think of is, if you had Nero as OEM, in other words it came bundled with a drive, the OEM versions have limited capabilities, and will only work with that drive. This is tied into the serial numbers. I know if you had Nero Express, it would not give the option for Nero Burning Rom in my case. Not until i updated to Nero 7 did i get Burning Rom. I think in your case if you didnt use the clean tool, and then installed, some registry settings could be blocking the showtime install. Just a guess on my part. I dont think you can get Showtime all by itself without the whole package as you found out in your search. The only way i know of fixing this is to run the clean tool first, to uninstall Nero, and then do the update. IF you already used the cleantool, then i am at a loss as to what you can do, other than to suggest you email Nero with your problem. They will probably tell you to do what i just suggested, when they do get around to replying to you. I know it is a pain to un-install and re-install Nero, and the packages keep getting larger and larger. I feel for ppl who have to use dial-up/non-high speed internet connections. The version of Nero you listed is not the most current, but it is the "bug free" version and i would stick with it. System restore probably wouldnt work for you as you stated you had to redo the computer from scratch. If you didnt reformat the HD, system restore might bring it back. But i would just go the whole cleantool, reinstall Nero route. Again if you did this already, (using the cleantool) then im not sure what else you can try. I will see if i can find Showtime 3 by itself, but im fairly sure it only comes bundled in the Nero package. I looked at the Nero site and it looks like Showtime 3 came out April 20 of this year 2006. and 7.0.8.2 came out March 06, 2006 so it might only have showtime 2 in its package. Im not updating mine beyond 7.0.8.2 until they fix some major bugs. Im still looking thru the Nero site for showtime by itself. Havent found it. Another idea i had, and this may sound crazy, is to un-install your burner drivers and let windows re-install them with a reboot. I know things like lightscribe will not show up, unless Nero sees a lightscribe capable drive. I checked my own showtime and it is 2 also (I have Nero 7). Now the latest Nero DL package says Showtime 3 is in there, but i have 2. No biggy for me, as during my last update of Nero 7, i didnt use the cleantool, i just installed over the old version. That might be why i have Showtime 2 Blue screen. If i can fix mine, then i can show you how to fix yours. But.. like you said, it is working, and i dont want to un-install to fix this. Looks like we are stuck unless one of us tries my idea to use cleantool. Since you opened this thread.. you go first.. LOL. Maybe Nero is lying, and Showtime 3 isnt really in there? Well, at least not in 7.0.8.2 and i dont want the bugs that come with updating to the latest 7 which probably has Showtime 3 in it. Anyone out there have Showtime 3 in their 7.0.8.2 or earlier version? This may be the answer we are looking for I think im on to something, or is it im on something??
ok -- if anyone figures it out - let me know - everything is working fine so i am not going to go crazy over it - but what gets me is i installed windows from stratch - formated it etc. - so theres not chance of anything being left behind from a older version - and i had this same version installed before and it had the new showtime 3 which i liked better - that is what is confusing - if i had it before and now i installed the same package - and its not there - i see if i feel like redoing nero again some time and see how it works - what is the latest version ? thanks - and if you have anyluck - let me know - if i found out anything i post back too mines is reg. as premium with dvd hd burning - mp3pro plug in dvd video plug in - multichannel plug in - lame 3 etc. but no showtime 3
Im sorry i couldnt help you, or myself on this one expresso. I didnt even know i had the same problem as you until i checked mine. I will be the first one to admit when i dont know something. I havent given up on this problem, and i might find the answer for us, but dont hold your breath. I will subscribe to this thread, and benifit right along with you, if someone posts on how to fix this. In the mean time, what is not broken, will not be fixed by me . I have had "buggy" versions of Nero work fine for me, in some cases. Maybe i never used the flawed part of Nero when that happened? Anyways, good luck, and BURN ON!! [bold]Under NO circumstances [/bold] would I update to 7.2.0.3 or 7.2.0.3b, they are shockers, stick with 7.0.8.2.
thanks for the information - i give it a try with the latest i update it and see how it runs -- if its that bad - i can always restore my drive image - i havnt made many changes since the last restore - i let you know how it works - thanks - i wont be suprised if i lose some of my extras with the serials numbers -- like no hd blue ray support or mp3 pro plugin - nero is very funny when it comes to adding in the serials - as long as i can use nerovision and do backups etc. its ok i will update right now - i get back to you thanks
ok i did the upgrade and it worked fine - i have showtime 3 now and still have all my plugins and serials reg. i didnt download the whole package again - i used nero tools and upgraded it that way - was much faster and easier and i dint have to add in the serials again - thanks for the link - i didnt even have to reboot - now i clean up some junk and do another drive image with this setup so i dont have to do this again - thanks -
I am disappointed to see you go with 7.2.0.3..it is full of bugs, heres what I wrote in a previous thread Since then I have examined quite a few log files, the majority from 7.2.0.3 and 7.2.0.3b, so I d0 not give this advice without any good reason. In the end it's your decision however.
i just put in the latest version and so far i dont have any issues - i just done it today but used nerovision for hours today and so far so good - and i have showtime 3 which works good for me - only werid thing that happens to me is - nerovision when i start it it takes a long time to show up on my desktop - then i used it for dvd videos - when i am done - i closed it - then the next time i went to use it - it shows up with out any options for dvd video ? thats very strange -- this happened with the older version also - it comes back - or if i reboot it comes back with the dvd options there - sometimes even if i dont reboot and just start again later on - its there - i havnt a clue why that happens - and not looking to figure that out either - sounds like it would drive me crazy and i wounldnt even know where to start -- but so far - so good for me
Usually i dont suggest someone use a buggy version of Nero, but I have 7.0.8.2 and it only has Showtime 2. Im not updating until the latest Nero 7 is out and many ppl have used it without problems. In otherwords when they come out with a bug free version or at least very minor bugs. I have seen Nero 7.0.8.2 logs where Nero is not recognizing the drive, and the only cure for that is a Nero update. As long as the cure is not worse than the cold i think is how the saying goes. As always i only give suggestions. Most of the time they are good, but this one kinda made me feel un-ethical, but it is always up to the individual to decide what to do. I also gave bug warnings in my reply. Some ppl only use a small part of Nero, and sometimes the bug only applies to one part, or section of the program. The surgeon general has determined that using parts, or all, of Nero can be hazardous to your health. Gwendolin is a buddy of mine, and as always her advice is right smack on the money. I wouldnt use the latest version of Nero 7 myself, but that was the only way i could figure out for expresso to get showtime 3 that i know of. I dont think it is a part of the 7.0.8.2 package as the history files show showtime 3 coming out after 8.2 and as i said, i have the bug free version and only Showtime 2. The parts of it i use work fine. Expresso, if you start noticing problems with your Nero, just be aware it is probably the Nero bug/bugs. You can always go back to 7.0.8.2 and wait like the rest of us for Nero to get its act together with a bug free update, or you can try to live with it, or work around the bugs. Its up to you. Always take the advice of a crazy person, like me, with a grain or two of salt. May your lasers burn brightly!
thanks for the warning - it seems to be working good for me - so i cant really complain too much -- i have a fresh install of windows - and it works better now then with the older version i let you know if anything goes really hay wire - but for now its ok thanks for the help -
