I just recently upgraded to the newest version of nero. When I try to burn a dvd, The booktype settings arent there like they used to be. I am using dvd-r media, and I know you cant booktype that. Isnt the booktype settings still supposed to be there though? I have a NEC-3550A Burner. If I were to use a dvd+r, would the booktype settings come back?
I checked the nero CD-DVD speed settings for bitsetting and it will only let me change DVD+R DL. The DVD+R and DVD+RW are both greyed out. I was just wondering, arent I supposed to be able to change it right through nero express? I used to be able to.
If the option is greyed out it means your burner does not support the feature and you need modified fw for the burner to be able to bitset. Here is a thread that will give you more info http://cdr-zone.com/forum/about4310.html And site for mod fw, however be advised that flashing with this fw can void your warranty and may cause problems with the drive. It is your choice. http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/3550/
Thanks a lot for the replies. I finally got it to work, thanks to you. I appreciate the info and web sites that you recommended to me. After flashing the new modified firmware, it took care of the problem I had in nero express. The booktype settings now show up. Thanks agian.
