    Hello.

That does seem odd. The workaround would be to use the Image Recorder to create an image file and then use Nero, ImgBurn, or DVD Decrypter to burn the image file to disk.

The only other thing I can suggest is uninstalling Nero 7, taking care to write down your serial number first. Then run the Nero 7 Clean Tool and reinstall Nero 7, the latest version. If by chance you had Nero 6 installed previously, you might want to run the Nero 6 Clean Tool as well.

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

You might also try using a registry cleaner.

Have you just started using Nero 7? Have you used this version of Nero Recode before successfully and this is just a new problem? What version of Nero 7 are you using?

Hmmm... that's odd to me too. Both of my burners are there.

What you need is another drive to install to see if it is recognized. If so, it would seem the problem is unique to the drive for whatever reason. If not, there must be something conflicting in the OS or Nero software. Since Burning ROM and Nero Express pick up the drive, there may be a programming error in Recode.

    Hey born2ride
I'm at a loss on this one too. But I'll throw in one more thing you may want to try Nero's Driver CleanTool& RegistryChecker.
When you do the uninstall run these too.

    Keep us posted.

After you uninstall Nero and run the clean tools you can do a windows search for 'nero' and 'ahead' and see if anything is left.
If it is you can delete it.

You can go into the registry and search too but messing around there can do more harm than good.

They're utilities - once you run them you can just delete them if you like. They're not installed.

Once you run and close them they should still be where ever you saved them when you downloaded them.
The download would have been a zip file and the files that you ran are exe files.

Click on C drive and see if there is an ahead folder there.

The clean tool for 7 may have gotten rid of most of it.

Then just do a search for Nero or Ahead and delete and folders/files.

Now run the driver clean tool and registry checker.
