My first Post, here it goes. Burn is successfull but read errors found on data verification process. Nero 7.5.1.1 Kick ass Verbaim MCC media, p/n 94852 new dell pc new panasonic burner with updated firmware 5 different DVD ISO images created with dvdshrink all have the same problem. I can't burn slower than 4x either for some reason. Any help would be great, thanks. I tried what you mentioned and burned the disk at its rated speed of 8x. The following is the burn log, looks like the result was less errors and a different error as well. NeroError(-1128) and NeroError(-1183) this time around. Anyone know what these mean, is there a place to look them up? I always read burning at slower speeds is better, but 4x and 8x have both generated errors. Still don't know why I can't burn at 2x. Any thoughts would be great, thanks. Well error -1128 is an Unrecoverable read error, -1183 is a Blank check command error. Have you tried to play these discs? Grab DVDDecrypter and see if you can successfully rip the disc. You might also use DVDDecrypter to burn and verify the ISO (instead of Nero). This might help to see if the problem is Nero only related.
Thanks for your help. I tried DVD Decrypter and it was able to burn the ISO and pass the verification process. So I believe we learned that Nero 7 and this DVD Burner don't get along. PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D>Version: 1.29 Is there a way to change the min speed of 4x or is that a burner limitation?
Don't get hung up on the lower speed thing, the new drives and media are made for higher speeds. As I've said in the past I always burn at a disc's rated speed (I always use 16X Verbatims). The results are near perfect in both my LG and Benq. What is important is to find media that is a good match for your burner and stick with it.
