I am new to the forum, and I just use Nero 7 ultra occasinally. When I try to copy a DVD movie that I downloaded from satellite and copied to a dvr-r in long play mode and finalized it. When I try to make a copy of it in Nero and it longer that two hours I get a copy failed indication. My question is can I set Nero to copy in the long play mode . Thanks bobaber
bobaber, First off, I'm a newbie myself (as you can see), but from my experiences with Nero I might be of some assistance to you. But, you need to give me more details...what kind of format (mov, iso, mpeg-4 etc) is the movie that you're trying to burn? And what do you mean exactly by "long play mode"?
I copy a movie which is over two hours long from Directv satellite, I don't know what format. I copy to a DVD-R disk in the LP (long Play)mode and finalize it. In the long play mode you can record 4 hours on a disk, XP mode 1 hour, SP (standard Play) 2 hours. The DVD plays on the three different players with no problem. I can copy from a player to the DVD recorder with no problem. Since it is recorded in the LP mode and the movie is over two hours long when I try to make a copy using Nero DVD copy it will only copy the first two hours to a DVD-R disk then the disk is full (obviously Nero is in the SP mode) and it quits copying with a failed message. If there is someway I could get Nero to set the DVD-R I am copying to in the LP mode I think it would work OK.

Thanks pryme H It appears the I can set it to long play in vision. That should take care of my problem. I just started using Nero after Roxio kept locking down my computer and still in a slow learning curve. So far it is much better than Roxio. bobaber
