    I have been using Nero for a long time now. Untill 7 I never had a problem with the software or support. It seems Nero does not want to admit that there is a problem. They have stopped responding to my correspondence.

    I can burn CD's with Nero 7, but not DVD's. I can burn DVD's with other programs, MyDVD, NTI Backup, but not Nero 7. I'm adding the Nero log incase anyone can help me. I'm about to ditch this junk and go to, heaven help me, Rixio.

    Hello.

    You need to reset the DMA transfer mode on your burner and other peripherals. See these guides:

    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking DMA.pdf
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

    You might want to rip the data from your +RW to your HDD first and then burn it to the -R media.

    Also if you're having trouble with Nero 7, you might try downgrading to Nero 6.6.0.18 which many of us still use because it is rock stable. If you do be sure to run the Nero 7 Clean Tool first before installing 6.6.0.18. Do you have a Nero 6 program serial number to use. Otherwise it'll just be a trial version that expires in 30 days.

    Nero 6.6.0.18:
    Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
    Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

    Thanks for you help. I had already done everything you recommended to no avail. I was trying to avoid unstalling Nero 7 and going back to 6. After installing 6 everything worked great. Nero is trying to avoid fixing 7. Seems like things have changed there. They got our money for a faulty piece of software. This is the last time I upgrade. I will tell everyone I know not to buy Nero.

    Today, I got a response from Ahead. Seems like there is a problem with Nero 7.2.8. They pointed me to Nero 7.2.7. Not the 7.2.7 I had but a different one. This one worked.

    @ub1

    Exactly which version did they tell you to use? Others probably want to know as well.
