Thanks alot!
I cant see too much wrong with your log, your firmware is current..only suggestion is the quality of disc you are using...try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan}
Hi grAPH04 You have the latest firmware but the problem is it hasn't been updated since 3/05 so your drive will probably have problem w/ the 16x media you are using. Reason you are getting the illegal disc error. Those Traxdata are made by Ritek - decent - but Riteks 16x have been showing up too much in failed burned logs esp w/ older drives. Try and find some 8x media - look for Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji (usually made by Taiyo Yuden) or made in japan Maxell. If you can't find any 8x try 16x Verbatim. 8x Taiyo Yuden can be found online - great media - just need to use a reputable site. Also might be time to consider a new drive. Good ones can cost the same as a 100 disc spindle of media. Newer ones handle the newer media on the market. @Ihoe lol- & I type slow heck just all my typos
@saltgrass........ his NEC drive's firmware is up to date! 1.0A is the latest firmware and he has it...... but: Even though Nero recognized that the media ID is RITEK it just doesn't want to be able to write to it! here is your drive: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...om=&bdrom=&orderby=Name&hits=50&Search=Search is your media 16x......... if it is it might not be recognized! you drive is old..... and even with the updated firmware it's having problems with the 16x media! at least that's my opinion.
