Can someone please explaine to me the mechanics and pros and cons of an IMAGE back up?

Is it a simple task in Nero7? (Whho am I kidding!)

    I have two 200 MEG drives C:\ and D:\

Will an IMAGE backup from Drive C:\ to Drive D:\ include the entire operating system so I can restore the IMAGE to Drive C:\ and be in perfect health. Ha!

    Thanks . . . Rick

Nero does not do HDD image backups, for that you need a program like Norton Ghost, Acronis Tru Image or Drive Image. Nero will only backup image files and burn them. It will make a backup of your data files, but not an image of your OS and registry.

    Hey, thanks for your reply.

In your opinion, is IMAGING a good back upmethod?

In NERO, Can I back up the C:\ drive to the D:\ drive (NOT IMAGE) including all of the operating system and registry files for a complete C:\ drive restore?

    Thanks. . . Rick

You cannot use Nero Backitup program to do an OS, you can it use for data, or program files. In order to backup and restore an OS you need a mirror image, and you will also need a boot disk to access this image. Nero needs an OS to restore the files it has backed up. As stated if you want an image of your OS exactly you need the programs I stated above. Nero cannot do this.
