Howdy - Nero 7 will not install - get an error code and then when you click "ok" it aborts the install. The error code: shell manager: unable to connect to short cut manager. COM+activation failed because an initialization function failed. error = 57381 error name: CO_E_INITIALIZATIONFAILED Win XP SP2 system, tried both Nero 7.000 off disc and 7.082 from a download. I used the Nero 7 clean tool (multiple times), driver tool and reg checker. rebooted after each "cleaning" I had Nero installed earlier today, but it was crashing the computer and locking up so I uninstalled it, cleaned everything up, and am now trying to re-install (with no luck). I uninstalled Studio 8 (OEM) and Pinnicle InstantCD (OEM) before trying to get Nero going BTW. Any ideas? Thx in advance!
OK - fixed it by re-installing Nero 6 and then just installing 7 over it. 7 un-installed 6 on it's own - I didn't re-use the clean-tool. This got it installed normally and Nero 7.0.8.2 seems to be working
