Hi all. I haven't had any problems from Nero until a few months back when my internal DVD-writer decided to stop burning discs. I bought an external DVD-writer (HP dvd1040) and while I'm still able to burn DVD's with no problem I cannot burn audio CD's. When I try the disc will play fine on my PC, but when I put it in my car or home CD player the tracks won't play. I can hear the laser in my car and home CD players going crazy trying to find the information. The players register the tracks as being there, the length of the songs and everything else. But soon as I hit play...nothing. I've checked the forums and used Nero Cleaner, uninstalled, clean installed, used different burn speeds. The discs I'm using are Sony CD-R supremas brand. I've used Maxell's in the past but that was before my geear decided to act hinky. I've even dragged out an old external CD-burner (Atapi)just to see if it had the same problem and it did. I don't think it's the burners but I could be wrong. I really need to get this issue resolved. Could someone please help? I had that problem before till i figured it out its the type of disc you are using. I was burning music onto to disc and it would play on my pc but not in my car or on certain players and its cause i was not using -cdr disc hope i can help
I am using CD-R discs. I learned a long time ago to be monogamous and not just buy anything with CD on it. Are you saying that I should be using another brand other than Sony CD-R?
