I have Nero 7. Several weeks ago I tried to do an update and somwething went very wrong. Since that time, if I try to make a mp3 music disk, I get an error that Nero is Corrupted and to reinstall. If I keep clicking the error message, it will do the burn. I tried to reinstall using Nero 7 to remove and Windows to remove and I get the same error but it will reinstall if I keep clicking on the error. However I can not update and the mp3 burn still has the same problem. If I go to Program Files, there are still folders left in Nero 7 that are not removed and I wonder if these should be removed. Any help on this would be most welcome Guy Henderson
Hello. Are you using the Nero 7 Clean Tool when uninstalling? Did you update over a version of Nero 6? Here's a link to the Clean Tools if you didn't run them: http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Clean_Tools.html Uninstall the current version. I'd recommend using the appropriate Clean Tool, the Nero 7 Clean Tool, to eliminate all traces of Nero and then installing Nero version 7.0.8.2 which is a pretty stable version. If you installed Nero 7 over the top of Nero 6, Run the Nero 6 Clean Tool as well before reinstalling. Also run the Nero Driver Clean Tool and Registry Checker. Thank you for your help. I used Nero 7 clean and reinstalled Nero 7 ultra with my back-up disk. I don't know which Nero 7 it is, but I am told that there is no update.
Hi. The reason I gave a link to version 7.0.8.2 for download is because that version has been considered the most stable of the Nero 7 versions available. There's been a brand new Nero 7 version out for a couple of days, version 7.5.5.1. I haven't seen any reports from users on whether it has fixed the bugs in some of the latest versions of Nero 7. If you have problems with the version you have installed, uninstall it and run the Nero 7 Clean Tool again and then download and install Nero version 7.0.8.2 from the link I provided in the post above. Good luck and let us know if your problem is fixed.
Thank you all, I got rid of all the crap and downloaded my Nero that I had on a disc, and now all is well. Upgrading seems to be a problem but I am now more thsn happy as Nero works just fine for all of my needs. I may address the upgrade at a later date when I am not so busy.
Honestly, if you have a version that's working and not causing problems, leave well enough alone and don't worry about upgrading to newer versions. Many of us are still using version 6.6.0.18 as it seems rock stable compared to all versions of Nero 7. Version 7.0.8.2 is the only Nero 7 version that seems halfway decent at this point.
