All was well until a couple of days ago. CD Rom Drive checks out o.k.... will read previously burned CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R ... Nero Info Tool reports all is well with ASPI but reports ASPI System Driver installation is corrupted. I did a check with ASPICHK.EXE, which confirms ASPI is properly install and operational.

However, I can't burn CD-R and get an "unexpected exception" error. I am persistent but no tech and need help short from taking it to the shop. HELP... my frustration level is in the danger zone. :)

Schnuckie edit your nero serial, or delete it.

I feel so much better now after having received such a prompt reply. I did manage to update the drivers and all appears well. As to step two to d/l the more stable version of Nero, the link to the particular version appears to be no longer available (greyed out). The original version of Nero was bought through retail and buggy from the start in so much I was given permission to d/l it from the Nero site after uninstalling it. In any event, you can you please provide me with another link?
If I were to d/l it from another link can I use my registration from the original or will I run into trouble it being looked at as a trial version?
Thanks so much for your help?

gwendolin is very helpful on these boards. He helped me a few months ago with a nero problem and helped me solve it.

It's people like him that makes me come back here.

Thanks gwendolin for all the problem solving you do here.

I purhased Nero 7 ultra several months ago, but was having troube with nero recode, so I downloaded Nero 7.2.3.2 and installed it. I've also run the nero update as well. I really like the new Nero recode with it's Apple iPod support and it is much more stable.

However, now when I try to burn a DVD with Nero burning ROM it is VERY slow - it takes 40 minutes to burn a disc at 4x instead of about 12 like it used to. Also, another symptom is that the read buffer sometimes drops VERY low (which it never did using the old nero 7).

I've determined it's not the burner because I can burn data to discs no problem with Nero express. I've also updated the firmware on my burner - no help. So, I think the problem is with my updated nero.

I don't want to go back to the old version of recode, but I need to be able to burn DVD video discs.

Any thoughts? Thanks for any help you can give me!

I just checked and version 7.0.8 recommended above does not have the nero recode iPod support. Is nero aware of this buring issue with DVDs?
