HI Everyone I just installed Nero 7 and I am using recode 2. The problem is that recode2 will analyze fine importing DVD's but will not burn or even encode. The error is cannot read from%s Nero express burns great. Am help would be appreciated. Thanks alot for all help and advice received.
@talonman Nero can't copy protected DVDs. You must have some type of DRM remover like DVDFab Decrypter, DVD43, both free or Anydvd (Free 21day trial) DVDDecrypter will do some and so will DVD Shrink but neither of those proggys are updated anymore. I recomend anydvd. from slysoft.com , $34 with afterdawn in the coupon area. It works with all programs and is updated, free for life, regularly.
@talonman I would also post your nero log (if there is one for this) may help us sort this out. They are located at program files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>Nerohistory.txt. Just be sure to edit out your serial # - usually begin with 1A,1C or 5C. Which version of Nero are you using?

@talonman Try updating Nero to the latest version 7.0.8.2 - you're 1 or 2 versions behind. You can update by using the 'product setup'. Go to Nero Toolkit then Product Center and pick update. What's the movie your doing?
I have tried several new ones. All backups that I did on my other computer, that way I know there is no protection error; region free has taken it out already. Th eupdate I did try but it did not want to take for some reason. I'll keep trying. Thanks Alot for the reply Binki I really do appreciate all of your help.
I did upgrade. I get alittle further but it is still giving me the same error. I can use shrink and then nero to burn no problems at all. I just would like recode to work because it is alittle bit quicker. Thanks again.
@talonman What part does it now stop at? Are you just importing 1 movie (from the drive or your hard drive) or different parts?
It will import the movie no problem, it is when it is encoding. It seems that it is right at the end of the movie and it is just about ready to burn to the disc. It usually kicks out the disc and then asks for a bank disc. Hope this helps you. It is on a laptop if that matters. Thanks again.
@talonman You're getting much further now! Usually when it pops out the disc and asks for a blank it's done encoding and is now ready to burn. When you put the blank in does it pop out again - still asking for a blank? Now let's post that last log - I think this one may have more info that will help.
