I have installed Nero 7 Ultra from this site, and there is one problem, the video is distorted. Is there something that I can do to make the video clear. I've used Nero for sometime, bought a new burner and it came with Nero, but it was a trial version. I am wondering if this problem is just happening to me or if anyone knows how to fix this problem.
Hi. You'll need to be a bit more specific as to exactly what you did. What program or programs did you use. There are quite a few programs in the Nero suite. Were you using NeroVision Express and converting AVI files to DVD? Were you backing up a DVD?
Okay... I am trying to burn DVD's using .AVI, WMV, Windows Movie and .mpg files, or any format. I have files in a folder that I select from, this was not a problem with the Nero that I got as a trial. I also used Nero 6.3 Ultra previously and it worked fine.
Hello again. There are a number of possible causes for your problems. I assume the raw files playback without distortion on your PC. Is this correct? Is the playback of your converted files distorted on your standalone player, your PC, or both? What version of Nero are you using? 7.5.9.0 (the newest)? Does the video standard of the source material (NTSC, PAL, SECAM) match your current standard? You might try downloading and using the trial version of VSO's ConvertXtoDVD. It is fully functional but watermarks its output. That'll give you an idea as to whether the source video is the problem or not. NeroVision isn't the best converter.
I just noticed that my fax doesn't work when I have Nero 7 installed. I am unsure about this Nero 7, it gives options for Video files, etc... when I pick disable all... my media player 11 works, but the images are still distorted when I try to view them with Nero Home, and Nero Showtime. I don't have a lot of knowledge about setting Nero 7 up, and perhaps it's something I should check or uncheck. I want to make Christmas DVD's for my greatgrand children, nieces and nephews. I was trying to use NeroVision Exress to convert AVI files to DVD. When I checked last I am able to backup a DVD. I like Nero, but I notice you have other programs available here. Would you reccomend one over the other? I don't know what raw files mean. The files I tried work with Media Player 11. The files are distorted on my pc, and when I made one on my DVD player. I am guessing that the playback problem is with Nero, I haven't tried any other program yet. I am not familiar with NTSC, or PAL, except for the options in the Nero Player. Is there a way I can have both the Nero and my fax program working, I tried to send a fax today, and once about a week ago, then I had to delete Nero before the fax worked. I know I am asking a lot at one time but when it comes to understanding working with video authorizing software, and troubleshooting I am lost and could use the expertise of the people at this forum. Thank you for helping out.
Okay... I reinstalled the Window Components with my XP CD. I am glad to say that my fax program is now working again. I was able to copy a DVD too. I just need to figure out why the Nero Home, and Nero Showtime won't work properly. If there is a solution for this problem please tell me what I should do. I saw a few of the logs that were sent in. They were very long, perhaps I need to know how to send a log in.
By raw files, I mean the original AVI files. If those don't playback, you may be missing the proper codecs or the original files are the source of the problem. I would download and try ConvertXtoDVD. As I mentioned before, the output will be watermarked but you'll know whether the source files are the problem. Many of us prefer ConvertX over NeroVision for conversions. http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
