hello all! i am having a heck of a time getting my retail purchased (walmart) copy of nero 7 ultra edition to update...when i try updating using the product setup option, get get fttp http update errors...when i go to the nero website to try it there, the update gets downloaded, then when it starts to try and install it, i get this popup "the currently installed version of nero 7 is incompatible with this installer...it must be uninstalled using the control panel before reinstalling with the current version"...i do that, and get the same popup...i've used the clean up/removal tools on the nero site, uninstalled/reinstalled till i think i losing my mind! i love nero, but at this point, i don't know what to do...can someone help me? please?
Have you ever used Nero 6 and if so did you run those clean tools? You downloaded and ran the clean tools from the website, and did it complete? Do you still show any Nero or Ahead folders if you search for them? There is also a registry checker you might try. http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Clean_Tools.html Are you sure you are downloading the newest Nero 7 and not Nero 6? Have you done cold boots between uninstall and reinstall attempts?
hey saltgrass... thanks for replying... i had nero 6, but i've been using nero 7 (sans updates, of course) since it came out...i'm VERY sure the updates i'm downloading are for nero 7...but that actually sounds like something i would do...i've used the registry checker too...i sent a support form to nero, like TWO WEEKS AGO and haven't heard one work, oh, except for that verification email they send out to let them know that they got your email...i'm REALLY close to just saying to hell with it and just using another program but i love nero, and i'd miss it for sure...any more ideas? i'm at my wits end here...
