nero web site and noticed that there is an update for nero 7.
is this an update to correct problems with nero 7?? i am having
problems with it freezing up and have not heard back from nero

Yes, and No, rolg, Yes it's an update to Nero to correct problems; and No it doesn't fix them all ;)

let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

    now we're cookin' on gas...

    - i think the latest update is (still) 7.0.1.2, from here - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php

    - newer version of your firmware is here, 'KH27' - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1726 that's the latest firmware HOWEVER that's a year old now..it's gonna have trouble recognising some newer discs

    - you gotta close down more programs prior to dvd work/burning to free up more memory, you've got none left. 512MB is sufficient total memory but something's used it ALL.

    - see previous comment

    - the burner can't recognise that disc properly, here's an example (not the best example as it's CMC but it's an example) of what it should look like, ie you should have a 3line paragraph similar to this when your bank discs are recognised -
    - ie your burner can't recognise those blank discs. if the newer firmware update doesn't solve it, you need to either try different discs (and hope the burner's firmware recognises them, or at worst, buy a newer burner

    - try 4x, but follow all the other suggestions too

I Need A Serial Number To Nero 7.0.1.2 Burning Rom---I Bought It Online And Was Not Given A Serial Number. Nero's Only Reply Was "We Appologize For The Inconvenience."

NO you cannot ask for serial numbers. persevere with Nero. if you got it legally you just need to sort it out. you get something like a month's trial anyway so it's not like you can't use it.
