Can't access CDDB for music tracks, etc., always gives "Network error". When I try to update the software, Nero connects to their update site just fine, so I know it will recognize my cable conenction. It doesn't matter which address I use for the "freedb" website, Nero just thinks the Internect connection is bad. Any suggestions? BTW, the firewall and anti-virus was totally disabled, so that's not the problem.

I don't remember that much about how it works, but it seems there was a user database involved, depending on your settings. Have you set up your user database and gone through those settings to make sure they are correct?

Yes, I do have a user database defined. It's used to keep any entries I make for CD's not listed online. There is a master user database that can be downloaded for local use, but even Nero's website stated that it could take all day to download that data. I emailed Nero the "toolinfo" they requested and they are looking for a root cause, but I don't really expect any help from them. I think I'll just end up getting the Roxio software. It'll work right out of the box without any futzing around with cryptic settings that Nero seems to be so fond of using. Nero is powerful software, but it does not seem to be written for "normal" users. Thanks for the suggestion though.
