I am using Nero 8 on windows vista. I have just reloaded my system and I am having trouble copying dvd's. Each time I try and copy a disc, it gets all of the way through then an error message comes up saying burn process failed. I am using dvd-r but I have tried dvd+r and the same thing happens. Can anyone help me with this??

Something's not right. 2047MB minus 29% does not equal 2047MB.
I also have a pioneer burner in the same machine and rather than direct burn which is what I had been doing, I selected both the source and destination drives, meaning it will read the disc, then copy to the hard drive then back onto the dvd, which I put into the burner once it has read the discs. Both times I tried this just now and both times, it read the discs all the way through then at the end, an error message popped up saying 'Reading Disc Failed. I have just borrowed some discs from next door and will try these now. I will post back the results
@dialysis1 My guess is BigCol has more than 2 gig of ram and Nero just doesn't report it correctly. @BigCol Turn this off let - let Nero rip to the hard drive temporarily then it will start the burn. On the fly does the rip and burn at the same time so any little error reading the data and the burn fails. Try reading w/ the Pioneer and burning w/ the LiteOn. You might need to try another program to rip disc - like Decrypter or dvdfab hd decrypter if the disc has video or isobuster for data (handles all file types)
I am running Vista Ultimate with 4 gig of ram. Is this the problem?? I have rolled back to Nero 7 and it works a treat. I have burnt every which way possible including swapping the sourse and the destination drives aswell as sourcing and burning from the same drive. Still does the same. The problem seems to be when Nero 8 or 9 read the disc, this is when it fails. Nero 7 mustnt be as picky because it works every time. Still if there is a solution to tnis problem, then I would like to know what it is. Thanks guys
No running 4 gig is fine and not a problem - hell with Vista you need at least 2 gig minimum Nero just doesn't report the memory correctly when using more than 2 gig - no biggie really. My guess would be that Nero 7 has better ripping capabilities than Nero 8 & Nero 9. Why I don't know. I run both versions (7 & 8 on different pc's) and haven't seen myself but in your situation that seems to be the case. You could try the latest Nero 8 - 8.3.6.0 and see if that makes a diff.
