Hello, I'm not sure if this is were I'm supposed to be posting this, I just joined a few minutes ago. On to my question, I'm using Nero 9 and whenever I try to burn a DVD it always says "Burn process failed" Before this however my DVD writer/burner couldn't read the Memorex DVD+Rs I have. I read elsewhere on here that a firmware update was needed. I then downloaded and applied the firmware update hoping this would fix my issue. My DVD burner still has trouble reading those DVD's. After a few tries of opening and shutting the tray Nero sees the DVD. I then added what I wanted to burn using Nero Express, then click burn. It started to burn at 4x. So after a few seconds the DVD burner tray opens and Nero says "Burn process failed" I am going to attach the log file below....Note my burner is the GSA 4082B drive which I updated from firmware A201 to A208 which is the latest for my drive. You could try burning with ImgBurn (save the output from Nero to the HDD). Consider using Verbatim disks instead of the CMC (Memorex) - and get something other than the Verbatim 'Value Series'.
Thanks I'll give it a try. Oh and it seems I've fixed the issue were the drive wouldn't see the DVDs. I had to go into Windows Explorer and right click on the drive and I clicked the checkbox that said "Enable CD recording on this drive. Now Nero see's the DVD's but the burn process still fails. I actually tried to burn less data this morning and got a "PMA" error. I'll post the log below... Synchronise Cache Failed! Device: [1:0:0]HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA 4082B A208 (D(ATA) Reason: Program Memory Area Update Failure NOTE that's the error I got in Nero [PMA Update failure] EDIT, just went to 2 stores, they didn't sell any of those discs.
