Hello I'm a newbie and I'm having hopefully a issue that can be rectified. I have Nero 6.6.0.13 and I downloaded Anydvd. Everything is good with making copies until I come across a file to big. For example I'm trying to make a copy of "Identity" and it saying that the disc doesn't have enough space. Do I have to always use Dual Layer in order to make copies when I run into this problem? I was told by Gwendonlin to go to Default Video Options but I can't seem to find it.

    Help!!!!

Use DVD Shrink or DVD Clone to encode the DVD into an ISO image file. Be sure your settings are set to DVD-5, so the ISO file will fit on a 4.7GB disc. Depending on how much the video was compressed, you may lose a little video quality. After making the ISO file, use CloneDVD or Nero to burn the ISO file. Burn all discs at 4x or 8x to ensure a good copy. By the way, keep using AnyDVD while encoding with DVD Shrink or CloneDVD. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. But I'm confused! Nero gives the option of setting Dvd 9 and Dvd 5. If I change the setting to Dvd5 will that work?

I have Nero and Clonedvd. I don't need both right?

Don't worry about Nero. Use it when burning your CDs not DVDs. You can use DVD Shrink or DVD Clone to make your ISO file. Just make the settings to DVD-5, which usually produces a 4.64GB ISO file. As long as you run AnyDVD in the background, DVD Shrink and CloneDVD should not have any encoding problems. Use CloneDVD to write the Image file to a disc. Burn all images at 4x or 8x. But as far as making your DVDs don't worry about Nero. Its useless to you. Hope this helps!

Nero not Useless! Far from it! Best combo for me is AnyDVD in the background, then Nero Recode2 (shrinks to fit then launches the Nero burning engine. Slick, no porblems, faster (and some would say better) than DVD Shrink.

Thanks dizzyduck! I'm going to try once I get in from work. Man I hope it works. Forking out $20 bucks for dual layer is expensive.
